PUBG Mobile Global Championship or the PMGC, the annual international PUBG Mobile tournament and the highest honor for any Esports team or player involved with the game are back again for 2022. In an announcement ahead of the rest of the world, officials in China announced the dates and prize pool of the upcoming PMGC Season 2 2022 on their socials, along with the roadmap of the Chinese qualifying procedure. The announcements were made by Peace Elite, the official governing body of Game For Peace, the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile. In this article, we will break down the group stage results of PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022 and find out the teams who have qualified for the next round.
In total, 64 teams qualified from various regions around the world for this prestigious tournament. Starting from the date of 10th of November, 2022, PMGC 2022 saw these teams fight out in the Group Stage of the tournament. The lowest point scorers in each of these three participating groups were eliminated from the Group Stage.
The top point-getters from each group made their way to the Grand Finals of the tournament, which is scheduled to start from the 6th of January, 2023 until the 9th of January, 2022, where the winner of this tournament will be crowned as the global champion of the world. The remaining teams will make their way into the Survival Stage of this tournament, where few teams will be making way for the Global Championship Finals from there.

Group Red
- Dates: Nov 10, 2022 – Nov 13, 2022
The Group Red of the PMGC Group Stage saw big teams face off in battle-royale matches, which will see the best 3 teams of the group qualify for the PMGC Grand Finals. The lowest point-scoring, bottom 5 teams were eliminated from the tournament. Barring these 8 teams, the other teams will be moving into the Survival Stage of the tournament, where they have to play with teams of the other groups to secure a place in the Grand Finals. We will list out the teams from Group Red who were eliminated from the tournament, teams which qualified for the Survival Stage, and more.
As per information, Buriram United Esports, Influence Chemin Esports and S2G Esports from Group Red were able to earn spots in the PMGC Grand Finals. In such a window, teams like emTek StormX, R8 Esports, Team Queso, MadBulls, and The Infinity were eliminated. Outside of these teams, Box Gaming, Nigma Galaxy, Titan Gaming, 4Rivals, Bigetron Red Aliens, DRS Gaming, Agonxi8 Esports, and LGD Gaming progressed to the Survival Stage.
Group Green
- Dates: Nov 17, 2022 – Nov 20, 2022
The Group Green of the PMGC Group Stage saw big teams face off in battle-royale matches, which will see the best 3 teams of the group qualify for the PMGC Grand Finals. The lowest point-scoring, bottom 5 teams were eliminated from the tournament.
Barring these 8 teams, the other teams will be moving into the Survival Stage of the tournament, where they have to play with teams of the other groups to secure a place in the Grand Finals. We will list out the teams from Group Green who were eliminated from the tournament, teams that qualified for the Survival Stage, and more.
Owing to the fantastic performance of the players, Godlike Stalwart, Nova Esports, and Fire Flux Esports have advanced directly to the PMGC Grand Finals. These intense fights saw Knights, YOODO ALLIANCE, Donuts USG, EVOS REBORN, and 1Million Esports being eliminated from the tournament. The remaining 8 slots for the Survival Stage have opened to teams like Bacon Time, Vampire Esports, HVVP, Alpha7 Esports, DWG KIA, Skylights Gaming, POWR Esports, and iNCO Gaming.
Group Yellow
- Dates: Nov 24, 2022 – Nov 27, 2022
The Group Yellow of the PMGC Group Stage saw big teams face off in battle-royale matches, which will see the best 3 teams of the group qualify for the PMGC Grand Finals. The lowest point-scoring, bottom 5 teams were eliminated from the tournament.
Barring these 8 teams, the other teams will be moving into the Survival Stage of the tournament, where they have to play with teams of the other groups to secure a place in the Grand Finals. We will list out the teams from Group Yellow who were eliminated from the tournament, teams which qualified for the Survival Stage, and more.
GEEK FAM, Four Angry Men, and T2K Esports finished at the top of the leaderboard in the Group Yellow Group Stage, advancing directly to the PMGC Grand Finals. The intense fights saw teams like GENESIS DOGMA GIDS, D’Xavier, Team Falcons, NS RedForce, and Furious Gaming surrender to the immense quality, forcing their elimination from the tournament. Additionally, REJECT, Geekay Esports, TEM Entertainment, IHC Esports, FaZe Clan, Vivo Keyd, GAME-LORD, and Besiktas Esports have progressed to the Survival Stage of the tournament.
Final Thoughts
With intense competition between the participating teams in PMGC 2022, PUBG Mobile Esports have decided to put an extra slot in the PMGC Grand Finals. The 24 teams, which have now qualified for the Survival Stage from the three groups of Yellow, Green, and Red will see 16 teams out of them qualify for the penultimate round of the PMGC Grand Finals qualification, which is known as the Last Chance Stage.
Out of these 16 teams, it was decided earlier that 4 teams will make their way to the PMGC Grand Finals. Krafton has now decided that 5 teams from the Last Chance Stage will progress to the Grand Finals. The Survival Stage will take place from the 30th of November, 2022 to the 2nd of December, 2022. The Last Chance will take place from the 3rd of December till the 4th of December, 2022.
